The sad fact is the social media engagements of organizations are less and brands who would sponsor them are planning to quit Esports because of not meeting the desired engagement. It is very hard for an organization to pay the salaries and expenses for the team unless they are winning… When the team is winning their social media and engagements go high and only then the organization can survive.
Due to these reasons, players might face layoffs and stuff anytime. But they were passionate and persevered in the game and they had to practice hard every workday for it. There was no choice for a side hustle or something. And now, the layoffs can happen anytime but they dont have jobs in other sectors to do. It is a messed up situation in the Esports scene currently.
